Mag drop

I've had my Micro 9/Crimson Trace since December. Since then I've sent around 1000 rounds downrange with it. I have 3 mags, a 6 and two 7 round, all OEM Kimber.

I am having problems with the mags dropping out while shooting unless my hand is pressing on the bottom of the mag. It doesn't happen all the time, but way more often that it should(which should be never). I've found it happens more when I shoot with one hand or if my daughter, with much smaller hands than me shoots.

I'm also having an intermittent failure to feed, which I think is because the mag is dropping down slightly. I like this gun and it shoots well for me when it's working, but I can't depend on it for EDC, not knowing if I'm going to have a problem.

Has anybody else had this problem? Should I contact customer service?

Likely needs a new magazine catch spring already. My Sig P938 had the same issue, except TWICE in 18 months.

Had the same issue every 3-4 shots, sent in for repair and has never happened again. I tried several things on my own but could never get it corrected. I wish they would’ve told me what was done but the repair ticket didn’t say anything. The process for return was painless.

Hmm. I had it happen for the first time recently (after about 300-350 rounds total through the gun). I assumed I hadnít fully seated the magazine properly.

Must keep my eyes out and see if it happens again. If itís anything but user error, it MUST be fixed.

Thanks all, I will be contacting customer service, I just hate to send it in and not have it, it's my only gun right now and I'd rather not be without, I wish there was a local option to have it fixed, but I'm sure that would cost me.

As an experiment, on one of your mags that is having the problem, extend the detent notch on the right side of the mag aftward about 1/32" and see if that solves the problem.
