My Kimber Micro 9 has been my rotational EDC now for about three years, carried IWB in an Adams Leatherworks rig. Decades of CC has taught me that smooth grips serve me best for this task for not hiking cover garments or tearing them up with aggressive checkering.
So....to match my two Ultra CDP's wearing the smooth micarta Kimber CC grips, I finally found a fellow that makes any grip you can dream up. He cut me a set of smooth G10 grips ball-milled to match my two other EDC's for my Micro 9, and did a very nice job of it too.
My little pocket rocket wearing her new grips:
Seems like a good match for my other CDP's, the one shown is the nine.
The Kimber factory rosewood grips are nice, but it never hurts to add that custom touch to a favored weapon, and this little gem has never let me down with a failure of any kind whatsoever. This is one of my Kimber 9mm's that got the "especial" barrel ramp treatment earlier this year......Flitz is our friend.
Probably should have looked like this prior to leaving the factory. But if it did, what would we have to dink about with?
Thanks to Michael Gailey of SGM Grips (Statesboro, GA) for the custom work with reasonable prices and great delivery. SGM offers exotic hardwood grips for about any handgun. The fit and finish was flawless...two thumbs up for SGM.
