OEM sights Micro 9 Woodland Night FO

I just purchased and have fired 80 rounds through my new KIMBER Micro 9.

This is a new firearm with Kimber supplied sights.
The sights are fixed, two-dot rear and translucent green-dot front.

I'm quite surprised that I have to correct one-dot high (above rear sight picture) to acquire target zone at <25'.
A normal sight picture results in a avg. 8" below-target zone.
This is my first compact, my first KIMBER and my first 9mm.

I've considered that my trigger pull may influence the barrel down but I don't have that scenario with my COLT LWC 45cal. It has a normal sight picture.

Is this my grip posture or is it a sight issue?
Thanks so much

My Micro 9 sights are way off too. Mine shoots high and well to the right. I have a sight-pusher tool but have been unable to get the rear sight to budge. It’s like it’s welded to the slide. I plan to bring it to a friend’s house tomorrow as he is an expert machinist and amateur gunsmith. If we can’t figure it out, it may have to go back to Kimber for some TLC....

Mine shot low, I verified it with a laser bullet. I was about to give up on the gun, I have several subcompact nines and shoot them well.
I finally called Kimber & sent it back. It came back with new sights and now shoots like it should.

I would strongly suggest returning your Micro9 for warranty work BEFORE you and your friend go all Bubba smith' DIY on it. Kimber can and will deny warranty work if it is found out of spec from your hands.

Your not the first Micro9 owner to experience POA/POI sight issues.
If it didn't change/improve with different ammo, I would contact Kimber CS and get an RMA for return and warranty work.

Thank you for that.

I just completed a call to KIMBER, described the sight issue and customer service has issued an RMA and the UPS 2-day label.

I have to say that as much as I researched this latest firearm purchase and as much as I appreciate this KIMBER 1911 design, I'm disappointed that it has to be sent away for up to four weeks. I should have joined this forum initially.

Thanks to all of you for your expedient input.

Your welcome, happy to help.
Just to be clear the Micro9 is NOT a 1911 design pistol.
