Flat Wound Springs

Just got two three-packs of Micro 380 recoil springs from Kimber #4100794. They are flat wound, and noticeably heavier than the originals. Takes a knack to get them installed - you have to hold them compressed and start the guide rod though it's hole, or you won't get the assembly in. I'm trying to get to the range and try them, but the highway is blocked by some disaster or other, so it may be a while.

Did Kimber just send you the springs? Or did you have to order them? And also where were they mail from? Are they now installing flat coil springs and all the new micros?

Flat wound springs from Kimber for a Micro?! It's about time they woke up and jumped into the 21st century. I wonder what they measure on compression weight? Do they say?

Update - I got to the range and there was much joy. 50 perfect rds through each Micro. I bought the springs from Kimber here Recoil Spring, Micro, (3 Pack) . They come in a 3-pack. Don't know the weight, but they feel a lot like 12lb Colt Mustang springs. What they show in the pic is not what you get. They ship a retail-packaged blister pack with the three flat wound springs. It seems that Kimber has finally wised up.

I had heard on another site that Kimber had developed a different spring/rod combination for the Micro .380
Wonder if the new issue Micro .380 come with this?
Or on any others on Kimber's line up?
Great news if they follow up on their entire line.

I think someone posted the Micro 9 he picked up came with a flat wire set up.
I know with my PRO CDP9 the Wilson Combat flat wire kit came with a new plug and guide rod. The new guide rod in the kit is a little shorter and I believe thinner than the stock. That flat wire spring has a smaller inside diameter so the stock guide rod won't work properly with it. I'll be going to the flat wire set up for my Micro for sure. As they're supposed to last 10 times longer, hey :-)

I bought mine 5 days ago. It has the "new" spring. Kimber CS said they were using a new spring. Haven't fired it yet.
