Micro 380 serial numbers

Yesterday I posted in the new member forum the story of my Micro 380, it's problems and fixes and the fact my friend's identical micro ran perfectly right out of the box. When I called customer service I mentioned that my friend's Micro serial number started with a "T" and mine with a "P." I wondered if that meant my Micro was made earlier than my friend's.

Luke... out there in customer service in Montana... allowed has how Micro 380 serial numbers all begin with M, P or T. While other Kimber models have serial numbers that mean something, he had no idea what the letters mean on the Micro.

Not that it's important at all, but just curious if anybody has any clue as to the first letters in the serial numbers?

Question

My Micro Bel Air that I bought in January 2016 has a P series number prefix, but I am not sure of the build date. How is the build date determined?

Donald, you have to call Kimber for the build date.

I have T 0012320 has run just fine out of the box until recently when I had a failure of the slide to go completely into battery, the new recoil spring and guide apparently has fixed the problem.
