No Laser Sight option

Hello All,

I'm brand new to Kimber.

Does it bother anybody else that there is no laser sight option for the Kimber Micro Carry?

Kimber offers 3 Micro Carry models with the Crimson Trace laser. You can also just buy the CT laser grips from CT's dealers.

Thanks for the response

I just figured I could buy the laser grips later but those laser grips are only for the Micro CDP, not the micro carry.

The grip screws are in a different place on one side.

In looking at the Kimber site they show 2 that are listed as compatible for the Micro .380s. One is black synthetic and the other wood. You may want to call Kimber to confirm? There's no comment about them only fitting on certain models. In looking at the pics of the RCP model which is offered with or without the laser grip it does look like the top grip screws are located somewhat differently? I'm thinking there's an internal step down clip of some type for the laser grip? It's pretty unlikely they would have a different frame for the two grip options of the same pistol.

Crimson Trace is not licensed by Kimber to sell 'any' Kimber logo LG's. Kimber's site and KMD's sell logo LG's.
The Crimson Trace site sells non-logo LG's.

@cousinmark

I already checked. If you don't buy the Kimber micro with a built in LG or a model that can take it then you are out of luck. There is no clip-on laser either that will fit it. I should have done more research before I bought it.

That is pretty lame of Kimber to make the screw position such that it would not fit the LG. So you can't buy the Carry and then buy the LG from someone else.

...just to confirm? Did you speak with someone at Kimber on this? It's not like its not beyond the realm of reason but it's hard to believe the frame design of the RCP would be produced in two versions?

I have to agree with Mark, Kimber makes a lot of different guns but the basic parts are all the same it's just the cosmetics on the surface that change.

This is somewhat interesting. I guess you Micro owners are going to have to get out the old dial calipers. Measure non and LG models.

I would think ALL Micro frames would be identical, but I've been wrong before.

Thank goodness all Ultra frames are the same.

I just put the caliper to my Micro CDP and my wife's Micro Stainless and they are exactly the same.
