First Range Report for my new Micro 380

Well, today I slipped out of the office to go shoot the new Micro 380, along with my M9. Unfortunately, I only brought the converted Sig P239 magazine (forgot the flush mag that came with it).

Had multiple issues. First, the slide would not lock open after last round consistently. Probably failed to do so 80% for the 100 rounds I put through it. It also did not like the Winchester JHP rounds I brought. Just would not feed. I finally got a few through it by mixing with some FMJs but it was ONLY a few. All this could possibly be due to the magazine so I will take down for a thorough inspection and cleaning tonight. Then go back for round 2 and will bring the flush mag for comparison.

All in all though, the M380 shoots nice, very comfortable shooting little gun I like it !!

Attached is the target from today, which also has rounds through it from my M9

Send it back to Kimber and let them work it over.

Kinda thinking that the correct magazine will make a huge difference.

I will if range visit number 2 goes the same. But need to rule out the magazine as being the culprit.

...pretty good shooting :-)
...do you know if your the pistol came with the newer recoil system? There will be groove on the end of the guide rod that rides the barrel if you do. If not call Kimber and they'll probably send you one.

Thanks. I will check on that when I take it down for cleaning. One of the problems I was having was feeding the first round when inserting the freshly loaded magazine with the slide locked open (with the JHP rounds). It simply would not feed. Got in late last night and tried with the flush mount magazine and had no issues.... could not duplicate the problem. Then I loaded up the extended mag I was using at the range, and couldn't get it to do the same thing either

I'm gonna check on what recoil system it has, clean it up real good and go back to the range. This time with the flush mount mag !!!

Just remove the slide from your gun and look at the coils on the recoil spring, if they are flat you're good to go, if they are round call and request a new recoil spring and guide rod.

Flatwire Rcoil Spring:
