Micro Trigger Appreciation

I went to the range the other day to run some rounds through my new Wiley Clapp Government and took the Micro as well. My buddy brought a few handguns, Sig Mosquito .22LR, S&W M&P Bodyguard and Shield.

I had no idea how nice the Kimber really feels to shoot until I fired a few magazines worth through the Bodyguard. Strangely, though, the Bodyguard was pretty accurate even though it felt weird in the hand and the trigger is not my cup of tea, to be nice about it.

BTW: Here's my Wiley Clapp

Now with a Wilson Combat High-Ride ambi safety and VZ ETC Frag grips:

Nice pistols! I have a Bodyguard and a Shield 9mm. The Bodyguard trigger does take something to get used to it. I love mine because of the ability to conceal it. I do love to shoot my wife's Kimber Micro...as you mentioned the feel is different.

Wow, what a difference grips make on the look of the pistol! Very nice.

C-Kyle, very nice Wiley Clapp, I've been wanting a Wiley Clapp CCO for a long time.

They definitely do make a difference. I like wood grip panels; but the Colt panels weren't going to work with an ambi safety, and my wedding band was marring up the checkering of the wood.

I've been looking at grips from woodcaliber.com for a set of fancy grips.

They are pretty nice pistols. I like my Micro; but, as most of us know, they require a lot of range time and sometimes a trip or two back to Kimber before they run really well. The Colt has run like a champ straight out of the box.

My Micro is totally reliable now with good fmj ammo. I'm going to start experimenting with the two or three jhp ammos that have decent penetration as well as spread. There's basically two that I know of so far, Fiocchi Extrema XTP and Hornaday XTP.
