micro 380 ?

My micro 380 shoots about 5-6" to the left at 7 steps/21ft. How hard is it to move the rear sight? Can I do it without a sight tool? It's done this since new, about 250 rds down range so far. Elev is dead on.

I've experienced the same thing with my M380 as well as M9mm. I've found that I'm shooting to the left when I close my weak (non-dominant) eye, but when I get dialed in with shooting with both eyes open, I'm dead on. Not sure why that is, but I've experienced this during several range visits since starting to practice & shoot with both eyes open.

First have you confirmed that the sights are off by shooting the gun off of sandbags? If so then I suggest you take it to a gunsmith unless you have a sight pusher. Kimber sights have been know to be difficult to move, I use a Sight-Tool myself and even with it I've had to soak sights with WD40 for 24 hours to get them to move.

I agree with Chuck - shoot it from a rest first then have the smith adjust as needed. I had mine adjusted by the gunsmith at the local range, which made it handy for checking it out between adjustments (one check needed, since he got it right the first time).

I will third what Chuck suggests! Shoot it from a rest before making changes you could even have somebody else shoot it and see if they experience the same problem.

Sounds like trigger control at that short of a distance. Check it first with another experienced shooter and see how he/she does.

My bad---sorry to repeat another!

I tried with both eyes open, that want be happening. Tried with left eye open, a little better. I shoot all my other pistols/rifles with my right eye open, no problem with any of them. But all have longer barrels than the micro. I think i'll use the same eye I have used all my life and move the rear sight.

Thanks all

You should be shooting using your dominant eye you don't shoot different guns using different eyes. But back to the original problem, have you tried shooting the gun off of sandbags to determine whether the sights are off or not?

Which eye is your dominant eye ? If you are more comfortable aiming with one eye , you need to close your non-dominant eye and aim with your dominant eye.

I'm right handed but my left eye is my dominant eye. Did not find this out until after hunting for many years as a kid and not killing much. Could not hit the broad side of the barn Made the swap to aiming with my left eye and I was able to bring home a few ducks and squirrels for dinner.

It's a simple test, you can google finding your dominant eye and should be able to find the method. Good luck !
