.380 problem

I just purchased a micro carry .380 and it will not fully chamber Winchester .380 auto ammunition. I can't find a spec difference between .380 auto and .380 ACP. Any suggestions?

Quality control on Winchester white box is not great if that is what you have. The micro's and other small Autos can be finicky with ammo.

Here's a couple of things to check. Take the weapon apart, and see if the Winchester ammo slides completely into the chamber with the barrel removed from the weapon. If the ammo goes in smoothly without binding, etc. then the problem might lie elsewhere. Check your recoil spring: Is it a round spring, or a flat spring? The former has been replaced by the latter, which apparently has a little more oomph. If you still have the old round spring in your M380, call Kimber customer support and they will send you a new spring and guide rod, which may solve your problem.

Is it the flat nosed Winchester white box? The only way I got mine to chamber was to hold the gun basically upside down when I chambered the first round of the magazine. The gun ran great with round nose fmj and with jhp.

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois Loki-14 and congratulations on the new Micro Carry. There is no difference between .380 ACP and .380 auto. I'll assume you cleaned and properly lubed the gun before your first range visit and you've checked to make sure you have the updated flatwire recoil spring and guide rod. How are you chambering the first round, are you just releasing the slide stop or are you slingshoting the slide? Slingshoting takes full advantage of all the recoil springs power to fully chamber the round.

Welcome Loki-14 to the forum. The others have given you some good advice. The only other thing I could suggest is to try something other than Winchester ammo. See if it chambers better.

My micro 380 did not like the Winchester White box with flat nose either.

Mine has had zero problems with Magtech 95 gr or Remington UMC 95 gr. Seems like I remember reading others have had problems with Winchester flat nose. Good luck on sorting it out!
