Short supply micro DC (LG)

New to forum. I am looking to buy a Kimber DC (LG). They seem to be in very short supply. Did I just miss a production run? Or is this an unpopular gun.

I want the all black with laser grips. Unable to find any at stores and only 1 or 2 on GunBroker. Price seems very high.

Currently shoot a bodyguard 380 green laser. Gun gun at range but a bit harsh for my wife. I only carry occasionally.

In November i heard that they would be discontinuing the solo so I bought the last dc lg in my lgs. Glad I did, they are very hard to find now. Maybe 1 or 2 on the Internet. Who knows maybe they'll go up in price like the rohrbaugh.

You could just buy a black standard .380 with laser grips on Gunbroker and then put night sights on it? That is what I did. You get the same gun, but without the black grips and ambidextrous safety. Mine cost $645 for the gun, $123 for the sights from Kimber which they installed free when it was in for one of its many repairs, and a $20 FFL transfer fee - no tax or shipping.

One thing to note.
The Solo DC comes with a "diamondlike coating" on the slide with the frame containing Kimber's standard coating.
The "diamond like coating" is very tough, My Solo DC LG' slide still looks like new after hundreds of ( trouble free ) rounds through it.
The Kimber Micro .380 DC model does not have the "diamondlike coating" like the Solo Has.
I paid $950 each for my Solo DC LG and my wife's Kimber Micro .380 CDP LG.
The Solo has worked flawlessly and although initially my wife's Micro .380 had some failure to return to battery, after installing the new flat spring and guide rod it has also worked flawlessly.
