Almost perfect day at the range

So the wife and I went to the father in laws place this weekend to shoot our band new Kimbers, two Micro 9s and two Micro 380s. The two Micro 9s shot perfect, 100% but the two Micro 380s failed to lock back the slides on the last shot, they shot flawless other then that. I read that it could be the followers so I checked my wife's 4 mags and the tab that engages the locking lever are all out tight against the mag wall. Any ideas what the problem could be? Could the recoil spring be stiff and not allowing the slide to completey cycle to the rear? The wife and I both put 100 rounds through our Micro 9 and Micro 380. Not sure how many round my father in law shot through his Micro 380. If I manually pull the slide to the rear it locks back every time. When I was cleaning her 380 I put the locking lever in the frame and inserted all mags and they all are grabbing the locking lever with room to spare! Anyone have any ideas??

I thought about that but screwed up and brought three boxes of Blazer Brass. I should have brought three boxes of different ammo but the Blazer has always work flawless in my LCP. Next trip Ill try out a few of the other brands I have and see what happens!

I forgot to post that I checked the box out and the Blazer Brass was 95gr. The more I read the more I see other people having the same problem and that it seems to works its self out after about 150 rounds. I hope ours does the same. Since the wife has pretty much laid claim to my Micro 9 Ill just keep the 380 AND get myself another mico 9! Ill get a nice pocket holster and replace the bulky laser grips with some nice thin rosewood grips and carry it instead of my LCP. Win Win for me!!

I feel your pain. My wife had a Sig P238 and I had a P938. About two years ago while we were at the range she asked to shoot the 938. Guess what happened. Yep, I ended up with the 238.

I got some of the Blazer Brass a few years ago with the coating on it...not good after the pistol gets hot. Can't remember if I posted a Welcome from a Middle Tennessean...just up the road from the Middle. My wife's Micro Carry 380 is particular on what type of Ammo it likes. If is doesn't like it...my Bodyguard 380 does.

I can report another good range day. That's 3 in a row after the M380 came back from the Yonkers spa, total of about 200 rounds, no problems noted.

Oil the shit out of the new .380 and hand cycle 6,783 times! This will help break in the mainspring, which could be slowing down the slide. You can also leave it cocked for a week or two. The mainspring in the Kimber's are pretty heavy duty and I notice that there is about a .125" difference in spring length between a new one and one that is broken in. 100 rounds is not enough to break these pistols in, despite what Kimber claims.

She's been locked back since I cleaned her Sunday night.
