For what it's worth, it's not a Micro carry but that's the carry load I use with my Sig P238. I've gone through a couple of hundred rounds of it since I got the gun a couple of years ago, pricey but problem free.

Chuck, is it a handful when you touch one of those bad boys off?

I believe the term people like to use is "snappy", LOL.

I thought there were rules against being snappy on this forum or was it snippy! Ah heck I can't remember anything anymore.

I'm not sure it makes a huge difference in .380 ammo, but I now carry Underwood XTP's in my Micro's. I'm not sure I would run the stuff in a LCP, but the Kimber Micro's and Sig P238's seem to handle them fine. Recoil isn't too bad, IMO. Not quite as snippy as a 9mm of similar size. I've tried BB ammo in other calibers and wasn't really all that impressed. Check out Underwood. You won't be disappointed.

Like the manual says a Micro can handle the +P ammo but a "steady diet" is not recommended. In a conversation with a rep at Kimber about this subject it came out that the recoil spring isn't the only thing that would be of concern. I trashed one of the old recoil springs with one box of Cor-Bon +P by the way. The frame being aluminum, is engineered with standard pressure ammo in mind. This applies to any aluminum frame Kimbers. I doubt a mag or two is going to be a major problem but I'd check that spring out carefully after shooting it for sure.
...just to clarify, for your .460 kit Chuck, wasn't a steel frame required?

I ran a bunch of standard pressure XTP's from various manufacturers through my Micro's to prove the XTP bullet design feeds reliably. I then ran 2 boxes of the UW +P's just to make sure those are fine. I just picked up a used/unfired older Micro CDP that I have to go through the process with, but I'm sure it will be fine. I think the recoil spring is key. The old style guide rod is not going to work.

*My knew Micro CDP came with an extra 6 round P238 mag that I'm not going to use. It looks to be unused though it might of had some rounds loaded in it. The only mark on it is a slight line on the top of the follower. I'd be willing to trade it for a 6 round Kimber .380 mag, if anyone is interested??? Or sell it fairly cheap. Let me know if anyone is interested or I'm going to post it on arfcom.

Sorry to veer off course.
