6/9/17 - 100%

Went to range and fired 110 rounds, 60 rounds Fiocchi 95 grain FMJ and 50 rounds Winchester 95 grain FMJ.

In fact, there were a few times that the slide did not lock after the last round. I figured out the reason for that was I used the new way to grip the gun.

When I shot, I put my thumb above the thumb safety (this is how I grip 1911) so my finger tip pushed the slide stop down a little bit due to the length of the gun. That was why the slide did not lock back on the last round fired.

Once I put my thumb under the thumb safety, there was no issue. Since it was not mechanical issue so I considered it was 100% reliable.

I have fired about 1100 rounds so far on this gun and it only failed twice in the first range visit. I just love it.

It sounds like you've got it dialed in, don't forget to replace the recoil spring now that you've passed the 1,000 round mark.

Thank you for the reminder.

Since the gun has been running well with old guide rod and round recoil spring, I hope the newer kit will keep it as reliable as the old parts.

The newer guide rod/recoil spring should be more reliable.
