Using Sig mag in your Micro

First I want to thank The Tourist on this forum for providing the Sig mags.
A little back history a few weeks back I was having problems with my Kimber mags. They were sticking halfway down and even the springs felt week. These were new mags and they still caused problems. The Tourist saw my post and sent me 2 sig so again thank you.

Because of weather and work, today was my first chance to get to the range. Let me tell you the MIcro and the Mags worked without any FTF or FTE and snaped into place even better then Kimber's.
I love my KImber's, Ultra ll and my Micro Raptor and my wife loves her's as well but my opinion is the weakest link to all the Kimber's we have is their mags.
On the .45's we even went with Nighthawk and Chip McCormicks. Please KImber help us out a little.

The Sig mags are not the extended 7 rounders. I saw a post that you have to modify for those to work.

Hope the helps if anyone needs mag's for their Micro. Seems like KImber is always sold out anyway.

I'm running 2 Sig 6 round mags in my Micro too. Picked them up on Ebay for $27 for both. I also run Wilson Combat mags in my Ultra and have 1 Kimber Pro mag that works fine. The Factory Kimber mag is pressed metal garbage. You would think spending that much for a fine Pistol you would at least get a Pro mag or two, nope, black pressed crap. Mine went in the trash, I won't even use it at the range.

I'm glad this all worked out. Thank you for posting your experiences so that other Micro owners know that they have an alternative.

Glad your happy with your Micro. I started using my P238 mags as son as I got my first Micro cause it was hard to find the Micro mags anywhere but the Kimber website. Albert got lucky finding his at $27 for 2. My Sig mags were $45 each. I was happy to get my hands on the micro mags at $23 and $25. Price difference was the 7 rounder.

Is this the one?

Sig Sauer P238 .380 ACP 7 Round Stainless Steel Magazine - MAG-238-380-7-X

Bit concerned about the description?

Price / Mag $33.97
Manufacturer: Sig Sauer

Sig Sauer Factory P238 .380 ACP 7 Round Extended Grip Steel Magazine (New) - MAG-238-380-7-X
This Sig Sauer Magazine is a Factory Original Replacement Part, manufactured to the same specifications and tolerances using the same materials as the OEM Magazine that came with the pistol, guaranteeing optimal fit and reliable operation.
"Factory Original" but also "mfd to the same specs and tolerances/materials "as" the OEM Mag"?!?!

If it's "factory original" but made the same AS the OEM Mag -- isn't that same as it's NOT a Sig-Sauer-Factory-made part!?

Price seems unlikely... But it claims Sig Sauer Manufactured?

(Or am I just paranoid? )
Elenor

(Everywhere else it's $40 or above.)

I just bought the Micro Raptor and tried my SIG P238 mags and they will not feed, seem a little short and the round does not come up far enough to feed. Really wierd. When I put the micro mag next to the SIG mag, the SIG looks just a little shorter. I wonder if they changed production.

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois HiddenPuppy. What magazines are you talking about, the standard or extended? If it's the extended then you have to trim a little bit of the plastic from the top edge of the pinky rest.

I have both for the P238, but tried the standard 6 rounder and the round rides low and does not feed. What is weird is that I took the mag from the Micro and it works fine in the P238, but not the other way

P.S. by the way thanks for the welcome!!

Hey, girl, I use the same 7-shot magazines in my SIG P238. They do indeed come from the factory, and I still have the original blister packs they were shipped in.

The floor-plates are even stamped "SIG Sauer"

I have four of them altogether. None of them has ever had a stoppage.
