micro 380

So took my micro 380 cdp lg to the range yesterday along with my 1911. Shot the micro first, had it since they first came out . It still has the old style recoil spring. Well shot 20 rounds of Winchester 90 grn fmj, no problem, 20 rnds of speer 95 grn hps, no problem, then 25 rnds of buffalo bore plus p 100 grn hps , no problems but kicked like a 9mm. Very please with the outcome. It's sat in mysafe for about 2 years. Think II'll carry it the rest of the summer. Let a few of the guys at the range shoot it and they commented on how accurate it is for a little gun. Anyway happy shooting everyone, be safe. Just thought I would share my thoughts.

Micro380

427Malibu We have a couple of the Micro 380's around here and they are both nice small pistols. I have a passion for smaller pistols and the Micro 9 Micro 380 are the ones that see the most carry time. They are a quality piece. Glad yours are running well. Doc

Impressive range report. Bought my wife a micro Bel Air a few years back and was so impressed with that, after they sent us the updated recoil spring and guide rod, that I bought her another one for Christmas the CDPLG version which is her EDC.
The Bel Air is just too pretty to carry and shoot every day even though I put night sights on it.
She also has a P238 rainbow and a Smith and Wesson bodyguard 380. But her all-time favorite is that CDPLG micro. 380 seems to be her favorite caliber and with good ammunition I think she is well prepared for most threats.

Always nice to see a good report. Sounds like you've got a keeper :-)
You may want to call Kimber and see if they'll send you the new recoil set-up. They'll probably comp it? I don't know that they still sell the old style springs which had an iffy lifespan. The newer springs are "flat wire" and seem to hold up better? You need the newer guide rod to use them though.

I suggest you follow Cousinmark's advice and contact Kimbers Customer Service. Don't wait for the old style assembly to fail, it could be at a critical moment. Get the new style flat wire recoil spring and guide rod and install it in your gun.

I called last year, they sent the new style spring the next day. Put it in the safe , when the old one gives me problems of round count gets high I'll replace it. Thanks for the tip, I read that in the forum last year and called immediately. That's what is great about this forum.
