Barrel lock up

I got my wife a Micro CDP with LG for X-Mas (and one for myself too). On both of them you can take your finger (with the slide in battery) and move the muzzle. I have a few 1911's with and without barrel bushings and you can not move the muzzle on any of them. I have called Kimber and they sent RMA's and shipping labels for both. Can anyone tell me if they have this same problem or if they are just made this way?

My wife's Bel Air hasn't come in yet so I don't know. But I will be checking that. And waiting to hear about your response from Kimber.

Hers is the only one that I tested. Sad thing is off of a rest at 10 yards both of our Kel-Tecs shot better. I hope that Kimber stand behind them. If this is their new quality standard that is sad. Kel-tec $260 VS CDP w/LG $1,200. I might have mad a bad choice. I have older Kimber 1911's and fit and finish are very good.

Mine's back at Kimber so can't check, but it was a tac driver so I can't imagine there was any looseness.

Since Kimber has sent you shipping labels they must know already something is not right and will correct the problem.

What is yours back for? I just went to my LGS this morning and looked at 9 different SIG 238's and the barrels were all tight and side to frame fit was snug. I might have bought the wrong brand!!!

Do not be in a hurry to rush to judgement. Have some patience and find out what the out come is. Sometimes it takes a little to get them to run perfect. Once they do pretty much everyone cannot love the Kimber brand enough!

I've carried a 1911 CDP II Ultra every day for almost 5 years now. that is the newest of the 4 Kimbers that I own. And I love that gun not one thing wrong with it. I just hope this is not the new quality that they put out. Time will tell. If they send them back and say that they are ok I will just sell them and buy SIG's.
