Homemade bedside holster

A buddy of mine works at a retail store, and gave me an old "retail scanner holster" that he wore for carrying his scanner. I told him, "I'm gonna make me a bedside holster out of this", and he looked at me like I was goofy!

All I had to do was cut a panel off of a 3-ring binder, buy some Velcro for $3, and VOILA! I have a bedside holster for which I paid a total of $3 and took just a few minutes to make.

Nothing like thinking outside of the box, it's functional, looks great and the price is right.

Excellent. I have seen bedside holsters sold on the internet but that beats the price and looks like it will work well. I have been thinking about rigging something to that effect. I think that is far more practical and functional than reaching up and over to a night stand in an emergency. Good job.

Also notice that this holster is pretty "universal". That's a Kimber Tactical Entry II (full size 1911) in the picture. I could drop an Ultra in there, and the trigger guard is completely covered.

Also, having 2 young kids in the house, I firmly believe in locking guns up, which is why I'll still rely on my GunVault desktop safe at night. I'll likely use this bedside holster for when I'm working on the road and sleeping in hotels.

Question Nice Job!!

To use an old family quotation......"Ya Done Good!!" That sure looks like it ought to do the job. Very clever use of disassociated items to create something that is both needed and useful!! Way to go!!

Gee, is that scanner the holster was for kind of like the Progressive Name Your Price Tool (which bears a striking resemblance to a Star Trek phaser!)? Go figure!!!
