Grips for the K6S

Picked up a K6S this afternoon. Overall, quite pleased. I collect / carry snub nose revolvers, mostly Smith & Wesson and Colt, and thought this would be interesting.

Fit and finish, trigger pull, size, look...all good...except the grips. The Crimson Trace rubber is too "square" or something. It could feel better. Would love to have a Hogue bantam grip or something similar.

Anyone making replacement grips for th K6S?

Incidentally, it fits reasonably well in Colt D frame (Det. Special, Cobra, Agent) holsters. Not perfect, but passable fit. The trigger guard is about the only place where things don't line up.

Welcome to KT from St Lou and that is one good looking revolver..

I fondled one for the first time the other day and yes the grips were a bit different than I expected...I imagine that the grip makers are designing some aftermarket one's as we speak/type..

After your first range session please report back on how it went...

I put 50 through it at the range today. Shoots a lot like a Colt Detective Special. Point of aim at about 35-40 feet with 158 grain LSWCHP (.38 and .38+P). Trigger is nice. I am not sure why it feel so different / smooth. The internals are a lot like a Smith & Wesson J frame.

I do not plan to shoot any .357 because the recoil would be punishing, poor ballistics from a 2 inch barrel, and harder follow-up, etc.

I like the grips, their called a boot cut, and they work well for concealed carry, in most cases they will not print, I also like the feel, my hand tends to stay put when shooting, a two finger hold on the grip is all I need for a gun like this, and these Crimson Trace laserless grip are much better than I ever expected them to be, they have grown on me, at some point Hogue and other grip makers may come out with something more of a full length for those that have trouble controling the K6S with the boot cut grips they come with, and if you're purpose is to wear the K6S as a belt gun for open carry it wont matter if it prints...

I'm a sucker for a nice set of wood grips. I check the grip makers one a week or so to see if anyone has released any. I like the Crimson Trace grips, just want something a little fancier.
