Finally got to shoot my K6S

Well took my K6S to the range yesterday and shot 6 shots 158 gr .357. All I can say is shot straight performed great, recoil manageable but was totally painful on the web of my hand by the thumb due to the metal back strap. Grips would have been better if they used the rubber there to cushion the impact.

Suck it up Cupcake, I'll let you run 5 rounds of full house 357 through my LCR! My Buddy made it through 2 and handed it back.

Would be okay with full rubber grips. I can imagine the 357 lcr as I have a 38 lcr.

I'm sure hogue will have a set for it out soon enough that wrap around the butt. I wouldn't even attempt 357 out of my LCR if it wasn't for the grips it has. It still smacks ya really solid.

I always am amazed at people's reaction to .357 recoil, especially in a smaller frame revolver. I regularly practice shooting my S&W Model 60-9 both strong (right) and weak (left) one-handed. It's really not that big a deal. I guess having big paws (I'm 6'6") helps.

The recoil on my S&W 60 .357 3" never really hurt my hands but it obviously kicks a lot but when my wife use to shoot it the web of hand would turn black n blue. It didn't stop her from shooting it on the next trip to the range.

Double suck it up buttercups. I will let both of you run full house .357 rounds through my 340pd. THAT will get your attention.

That said, why the .357 anyway? Very little if anything gained and followup shots are that much more difficult. I find 158 gr. Nyclads or 135gr. Speer Gold Dot Short Barrel to be the compromise and at 30' they are right in on any of my snubbies. My K6S has factory CT grips and even with the exposed backstrap recoil with any 38's has not been an issue.

I always run +p 38 instead for Carry. The 340 is definitely a handful.

I shot my new K6s yesterday and it was a pleasure. It's my first CCW snubbie. The DAO trigger is wonderful. I shot light .38spcl loads, to heavy .357mag loads... ending with 180 grain hardcast HSM "Bear Loads". The latter was certainly snappy... but absolutely pleasant compared to the 305 grain HSM Bear Loads shot from my uber-light S&W 329PD right afterwards. You wanna shot a gun that defines "UNPLEASANT", then shoot a 329PD with .44mag loads. The big X-frames don't even generate the pain that one does.

I'm not very recoil sensitive. I had a 329 PD. Unpleasant is an understatement!
