Kimber K6S First Edition

Hello Everyone,
I was just wondering what you guys thought of the Kimber K6S First Edition ? I am curious if you guys think the gun will hold it's value? I can get one, but just don't know if I am making a smart buy. Thank you

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois Trubiltman. I have yet to see a K6 in a LGS so anything I said would be a WAG. How about stopping by our "New Member Introduction" sub forum and introducing yourself to the membership?

Hard to say if it will hold it's value. The gun is selling at double that of a K6 and that is a lot of ground to hold. I guess it may depend on how long you can afford to wait. I carry mine everyday so any advantage of the shiny finish would soon be marred by something. As for the grips I have the CT lasergrips currently on mine so I can't comment of the wood that comes on the first edition.

Trubiltman, welcome to the site from Tennessee.

I have been wondering that same question for several months now. I believe there are way to many factors beyond our control, then there is the price you pay for the revolver. I don't know how old you are but for me even if it held it's value it probably not happen in my lifetime. I have not even seen a regular K6S in person.
I decided that:
I really like the looks of the First Edition and if I could find one at a reasonable price (not the over MSRP prices I'm seeing) or a price I am willing to pay then I would purchase a First Edition. I would shoot and enjoy it not keep it unfired in the safe so I would not be worried about it holding it's value or becoming a collector gun.
You should buy a K6S because you like it.
Just my opinion if I had known things like this I would have bought a truck load of Colt Pythons.

Post some pics after you get it. My advise "Buy LOW as you can!"

Welcome to the forum Trubiltman, I guess you could say I liked my first K6S so much that I bought a second one, I have put Altamont rosewood grips on one and have another set coming for the new one, these are fantastic revolvers, well built accurate and totally reliable, Kimber did their home work on this gun, and took their time to get it right, friends of mine that have tried the new Colt Cobra say the Kimber K6S is the winner hands down, I can only take their word for that, I haven't tried one yet or even handled one, you can't go wrong on the K6S...IMHO..

When I was at my LGS not to long ago I finally got to hold the K6s. It was a sweet looking revolver and felt great in my hand. The trigger felt great when dry firing.
Congratulations, hope you enjoy it.

You probably made a wise choice. The first edition is nice if you have money to but but I believe you would have to leave it unused in a safe for a very long time before you might realize a small profit.
That said, go shoot your new gun. I have mine with me everyday. That evtra shot is a deal maker.
