WooHoo!!, new, used, K6S...how did I do?

Stopped at my LGS today just to kill some time before a doctor's appointment just down the street. Checked out all the new stuff and held my first K6S. I've seen them, read about them but never held one.
They had three between $899.00 and $1100.00. My guy says "I have a nice one in the "used case". The story goes a young lady bought it about two months ago with a box of Fed. 158 JSP. Came back last week and traded it for a small Kimber 9mm auto. She shot it 12 times.

He had $750.00 on it, but let me have it for $679.00 with the remaining 38 rounds in the box. It's the one with the all black sights and blue rubber grips. I was short on cash so I put down $150.00 for a lay-a-way and I'll pick it up next week. The grips have got to go and I'll be looking for at least a better front sight.

I love .38s and .357s and load both so I have lots of ammo on hand for it. Range time and photos to follow soon. I think I'm in love. How did I do?

I think you did GOOD! I know they are new and everything but I feel they are a little overpriced to start with. The Rosewood K6S grips from Altamont are $60 bucks but they look awesome.
I'm keeping my eye open for a deal like that myself.

Sounds like you had a pretty damn good day even though you had a doctor's appointment! Hope that turned out as well as your little side trip to the LGS! Good luck with your new pistol. We'll be waiting for a range report!

I've already ordered the Altamont Dark Walnut Boot Grips. I prefer the smooth look over the checkered models. What do the Blue grips tell me? I don't see them on the Kimber website. Early model? Chick grip?

I think my pet loads for my 3" S&W M-13 should work nicely in the 2" K6S. I do love revolvers and this indeed something different. Can't wait to get it on the range.

The blue grips were the originally supplied grips. After a couple months of production, they switched to black grips

Thanks for info. Kinda thought it was something like that. Dealer did say it was one of the first few he sold. His "couple of months ago" could well have been last year. The gun looks like new, no scratches, no cylinder ring, no flame cut...so I do believe the "only shot it 12 times". The box and all look pretty new to me.

Thank you for the well wishes. Very nice. So far so good...but I still have to go back for the "big" stress test. Doc doesn't think it's serious but he wants the tests for a future base line.

Can't wait to hit the range ...I now have two new additions that I haven't shot yet!
