I was of the same opinion and was pleasantly surprised to find they offered that as an option.

The DLC ( diamond Like Coating ) is a very tough coating. It's the finish on my Solo DG LGS's slide and it still looks like new.

You're right when Kimber first brought out the K6 in 2016 it was only offered in Stainless Steel. They just recently added other finishes to the line.

They also upped the MSRP just a bit. What makes the DC model worth 1,550.00?
I am not seeing something. I would buy S&W M&P 340 for five or six hundred less.
Can someone show me where they did something worth the extra 5 or six hundred.

You may have misread MSRP for the DC model. I see it as $1155.

Thank you I looked at Kimber before finishing my coffee. Still at 1155.00 is still high. G10 grips do not cost as much as wood grips. The finish I suppose is where the extra cost is.

Tom, I don't see it either! Totally agree 1155 is high.

I'd rather buy a old school pre-lock Smith.
Edit: Oh wait I've been doing that a long time.

By my math, that's roughly 2 Micro 9s or one and a heck of a lot of accessories.

Or even a well equipped Ultra.

I'm having a hard time justifying the price. I guess since I'm becoming kind of a semi-auto snob....

IMO Kimber priced themselves out of the competitive market nich.
