Cylinder falls completely out of frame

Hey guys,

I'm new to the forum and have been a proud owner of a K6S for about 7 months. It's my regular CCW. But yesterday, as I was doing some speed loading drills, the cylinder fell out completely. After inspecting it, I thought that the small bolt on the opposite side must provide some mechanical fastening for the cylinder assembly but no matter how much I tightened the screw, the cylinder was still able to drop out once the release button is pushed.

I can only assume that something has happened to that bolt for it to no longer hold the assembly. I wanted to replace myself but Kimber's representative wanted it back for inspection. Normally, I would've just walked to Ace Hardware but I guess this does seem odd, especially for a weapon with <1K rounds through it. Has anyone else experienced this?

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois Ronald_Chicago. This is the first report I've seen of the problem you're having. Kimber probably want's to see exactly what's happening with your pistol so they can get ahead of any potential problems with the gun. None of us like to do it but I'd suggest you just bite the bullet and send your K6 in.

Now, how about stopping by our "New Member Introduction" sub forum and introducing yourself to the membership?

Welcome to the site from Tennessee.

Wow, that's a new and unexpected issue with the K6. I say for sure it should be inspected by the Mother Ship!

Welcome from AL. Good news is the Mothership has given me Excellent service in very short time periods. I'd for sure send it to them even though it's an inconvenience! Let us know what happens.

I don't own one but I have a friend that picked one up and I really love the feel and look of this puppy.
Best to send back to Kim and, other than missing it for a bit, you won't regret what you get back.
Oh...Yeah.
Welcome from the great state of Oklahoma. Great bunch here except for that Gundude.
Only guy I know that was banned from Sturgis for ungentlemanly like behavior.

I agree with sending it back. I had to send my UC II back and it’s been flawless ever since. Kimber customer service gets my praise.

Hey guys! Kimberís customer service is something else! The revolver has been returned already with new springs, fastener, and cylinder. Incredibly fast turnaround!

Great news Ronald! I still think that should have never come to you like that. I looked at the K6S but put it back due to quality issues. I hope this works out for you and good luck with it!
