K6S Broken - After First Range Day

Well, I picked up a used K6S in a trade and took it to the range today and it did great. Over 100+ rounds without an issue. Took it home cleaned the gun and while using a speed loader the cylinder fell out of the gun. I found a small spring on the floor.

Are you sure it was only one spring?

Take it from a former mechanic. A Harley is a big bike--but made from little pieces. Get a high lumen flashlight (like a SureFire) take your shoes off, watch where you step, and roll the flashlight across the floor.

A "shadow" is most likely a part of something. And you'll kick yourself if it's another spring.

Thanks for the recommendation... I looked around and did not find any other parts. I called Kimber this afternoon and the crane should have never come out without the bolt on the right side of the gun being removed. It's off for repair and I'm going to have the night sights put on while it's back with Kimber.

Hello John. That sucks. I hope Kimber makes it right.

Just curious, did you dissemble the revolver in any way while cleaning it?

@Jimmo952

Standard cleaning and did not disassemble the revolver. I'm sending the gun back today and confident that Kimber will make it right.

Follow-up: I just got the gun back from Kimber and they replaced the crane screw to fix the issue with the cylinder falling out. The revolver is back up and fully functional. The repair only took one week. Very happy with Kimber's customer service.
