Agreed. I'm in a pickle. The FFL I've been using for a long time now is closing. Well the Pawn Shop owner is closing the pawn shop due to high building rent/low sales. She never charged more than $30 per transfer often I would have two guns arrive at the same time and I would get 2 transferred for the price of one. The Winchester Model 12 she charged me $10 bucks.

I've been searching for a new FFL. The old one was 5 miles from my house, next closest will probably be 10-12 miles.
The worst part is some are charging $50 bucks per transfer? I don't count/include the transfer fee in what I have invested in any gun but it still comes out of my pocket.

FFL transfers range from 20.-25. bucks.

I use one that's free. 25 mile round trip.
Three FFL's in Cobb county are free.
I understand there are several free FFL in NE Atlanta.

I know I'm not making you feel very good, but it sounds like FFL price fixing in your area.

Marshall....I don't post personal gun pictures on KT or any site, for any reason. Never have/never will. Taking IP risk is for those that choose to do so, I don't. If you have a problem with that, choose a orifice. End of subject.

Nobody that I'm aware of around here doing Free transfers. I don't expect it to be free but on the other hand I don't feel any fee over $35 bucks is reasonable.
My original guy (Joe) passed away kind of suddenly, he was a nice guy but FFL work was his night/side gig. Never knew how long it would take him to do the paper work. He only charged me 20 bucks for pistol or rifle.

Having run a small business for about 15 years, and getting a first hand look at all the work and bureaucracy/paperwork (and I'm not even an FFL) I am more than happy to pay a guy for a transfer.

At 25 bucks they are barely worth his time as it is.

I saw Scott listed as a FFL on GunBroker. I may give him a try. I also have a couple others I'm planning on calling and checking out.

Scott has been doing this for long time. Anytime I have purchased a gun or class III online he's already listed in the seller's system to send to. He's president of CRC.

I have never heard of a free transfer. However, I did win a free 10/22 aluminum receiver from Fedderson on rimfirecentral.com and he also paid for my fee's for me. Sooo that was free!

Thanks all for the replies. I have not ordered any firearms online yet so that's new territory for me. I will definitely do it in the future I am sure.
I do know that FFL transfers are about $35 here (CT) with one exception being $10, that store was free in December 2019. (I do not care for the $10 store however) So I guess I could have saved some money by using online dealers. I would also have to pay shipping on the item as well which I guess could vary depending on what it is.

Thanks for the prices on the gun sites. I like to support the small local gun dealers as much as I can if they keep there price reasonable to online sellers. Cabela's won this one for me however. Cabela's is in the next town over where I work so easy pickup.

Look forward to getting shooting it.

My FFL charges me $10 for transfer. He offers that to First Responders, Active Military, Vets and current LTC (CHL) holders. I hit on the last two. If you have more than one you are transferring that day, each additional gun is $5. He is 2 miles from my house.... it's awesome!
