NGD and new user intro ...

I *just* picked up my new K6s Royal from my local dealer, and I couldn’t be more pleased. After 25 years with my old reliable EDC–a S&W Mdl 49 Bodyguard, deep blue with ivory boot grip (I called it “the wife”)–I decided it was time for a change. Not a change in concept, or even aesthetics ... as the K6S Royal is also a 2” snub in blue with ivory grips, but a change as in, its “the wife” on steroids. 6 shots of .357 Mag over 5 shots of .38 Spl. BIG upgrade! It’s the same relative size, shockingly, and has the same snag-free draw, hell ... it even fits great in my favorite DeSantis IWB holster, all worn in from daily carry. The ONLY thing I am sure I’ll miss is the option of single action with the shrouded hammer of the old humpback. But I am going to practice staging the DA of the Royal, and should get somewhat similar results with time at the range.

I’ll be looking for an OWB holster for 4 o’clock carry as well, anybody got any favorites?

Welcome to the forum Prowling, you won't go wrong with a holster from Wright Leather Works. I have 3 of them myself after going through a half dozen other brands.

How about stopping by our "New Member Introduction" sub forum and introducing yourself to the membership. Tell us something about yourself, your interests, hobbies and where your located.

Welcome to the forum from Northeast, Pa.

I’m another Wright Leather Works fan. I have two Predators and one on order.

Welcome to the site from Tennessee. Congrats on the new K6 Royal. Looks like it has a higher degree of "bluing"?

Welcome to the Forum. As the others have mentioned you can’t go wrong with a holster from Wright but give a look at Milt Sparks and Tucker also. All great holsters.

Thanks 2sharp2, as I understand it, the finish is the DLC vaporized carbon over stainless. It looks REALLY good, a very even, rich, and deep black finish over well-polished steel. I'm *hoping* that the "Diamond Like Carbon" will wear like a diamond in my IWB rig I use for EDC. Time will tell, and I have a feeling that this revolver will be at my side for the duration ...
