scope for my 84M

hello guys new here. just bought a Kimber 84M in 308. Im looking at getting a vortex viper 6.5-20x44 PA BDC. does anyone have any feedback on this scope and will it be a good scope for my 84M?

Welcome to the site from Tennessee. Don't own the rifle or the scope, have been thinking of buying a Kimber rifle in 308.

Welcome to the forum from Northern Illinois. I have no experience with the scope, but if we get enough people welcoming you, sooner or later one of the rifle guys will take notice.

Welcome to the KT and can't wait to read your range report on the rifle.

Howdy, I've got a Montana in 6.5 Creedmoor, and love it. I put a Swarovski 3-9x36 on mine to keep the weight down, this is intended to be a mountain rifle. The Vortex you are looking at is a fine scope, and is on a killer deal at cameralandny.com, but maybe you knew that. For me, it's a little too heavy for carrying around mountains. If you are not necessarily chasing heights, and regularly take long, open shots (600+ yards) then I think you will like that scope. Certainly a good match for the .308.

I'm sure it will be a good scope.

I have one Vortex. Good scopes!

I prefer the Nikons myself. Better quality/price ratio, in my opinion.

Also, for my area 3x power should be the starting magnification. In fact except for sighting it, in all my deer are shot with the scope at minimum magnification.
