K-22 feeding problem...

Recently I bought a spare magazine for my K-22 (Yonkers) rifle. Right from the get-go it malfunctioned by feeding the ammo so as to be too low as it approached the breach. It would jam into the area just under the breach and that was that. When I sit that new magazine next to the mag that came with the rifle you can clearly see that the new mag does not allow the ammo to rise to the correct angle so as to feed into the barrel. My instinct is that that the feed lips are closed too tight to allow correct feeding. What say you? Solutions? Thanks...

Interesting issue, but since most of us are pistol owners, not rifle owners, it would help to have some photos of said magazines.
