My first Kimber and 10 Year anniversary present.

Hey all,
I ran across a smoking deal the other day on a rifle that I plan to use for big game hunting for the rest of my life........I'm only 34 years old so I hope it will see many years of use. Going to get it setup for my Eastern Oregon Bull Elk hunt coming up in October.

I called my wife to get the approval before "pulling the trigger."

My 10 year wedding anniversary is this December, so this is my anniversary present. We already agreed it could be any gun under a grand.

Needless to say I'm a bit excited. It's a NEW IN BOX Kimber 84m Classic Select Grade in 308 (with the best french walnut I've ever seen on a kimber).

This local farmstore had this New in the Box rifle on the "clearance rack" and with getting them to knock another $129 off the clearance price, I walked out the door with this beauty new in the box for $950 out the door.

Not braggin, just sharing my excitement with my fellow "gun nuts".......

Mounted up a Weaver Classic 6x38mm in Talley Lightweight Lows.............

Also installed an erniethegunsmith "varmint" trigger return spring before shooting the rifle. This brought the trigger pull from 4lbs to 2.25lbs with no other adjustments. Very, very, nice and SAFE trigger. Highly recommend the ernie spring.

Oh, and it's a shooter too.

100 Yard groups with Federal Power Shok 150gr SP factory loads.

After site in.......

Final and 2nd group after site in...........

I have almost no education when it comes to Kimber Rifles! I do know an absolutely beautiful wood stock when I see one! Wow! that is a good looking Rifle! I hope you enjoy it for many years! A lot of hunters like to carry sidearms with them. You might mention that to your other half. Kimber has a nice selection of hand guns. not saying just sayin'

Wow, great looking rifle, and the targets don't look bad either. Now curious if you will fill your tag.

See Austin, I told you there were Kimber lovers here!

Good to see you here, and as the other poster mentioned, Kimber makes primo handguns, and we all like to have a handgun on us when out and about in the outback, right?

Maybe an 11th anniversary present next year? Who knows?

Best of luck filling those tags!

I do have one suggestion. You might steer your wife away from buying you fire arms based on an anniversary, not saying but I can almost hear her on your eleventh anniversary honey what do you mean what model gun should you get! It has only been one year you got your Kimber on our tenth anniversary!

Haha, thanks for the advice. I'm certainly lucky with my beautiful wife; she would never pull such a stunt.

I've got it way too good over here. I'm blessed to have the women I do.

Got a lot of Kimber's but no Kimber rifle but I'm working on that.

Like Tom, I know what I like and "I LIKEY THAT ONE" stunning stock on that rifle. I would like to find a deal like that. Nice snag.
