Most accurate ammo for Adirondack 308

Building a Adirondack in 308 has 18"bbl w/ muzzle brake and talley lightweight rings for a leupold VX-5 HD 2-10x42 w/cds. Looking for accurate factory ammo to deer hunt with.
Thanks

I recently started using Hornady Super-Performance 308 168 gr. I’m sure 150gr would have been fine for deer but it’s also bear season so I wanted something a little heavier. It leaves one hellava exit wound.

Welcome to the forum.

An 18" barreled .308 with a brake? Planning on saying "What did you say?" a lot? :-)

Concerning ammo for deer hunting, depending on your hunting conditions the plain vanilla Remington 150 gr. Core-Lokt will probably work great out to at least 300 yards. Accuracy in my 22" barreled .308 Kimber Hunter is outstanding - way better than "minute of deer".

I made a mistake the Super Performance ammo I used was 165gr.

My 308 loves Core-Lokt 150gr. Itís surprisingly accurate.
I recently bought 7 boxes of Federal Power Shock 150gr from MidwayUSA and that also worked out well.
When it comes to deer hunting anything your guns shoots accurately will work. Itís just like self-defense, a well placed shot will usually work.
Ammo companies have great marketing skills. They will make you feel that the ammo you have been using for year isnít that good compared to this new ammo they just came out with. The new ammo may very well be superior but at the end of the day a box of $17 ammo will get the job done just like a $35+ box of ammo.

I have had pretty good luck with Hornady Whitetail Hunter and it is inexpensive. I have been getting less than MOA and lately I have been seeing posts recommending it for accuracy or sighting in tests. It comes in 150 grain used a lot, and the heavier Interlock in 165 grain. Both highly rated. Try it in your rifle and see if it works in it. I think of the two I would use 150 but if you are worried about not hitting hard enough the 165 which I use less might prove a good hunting round. I would bet on that!

I've had good accuracy with PrviPartisan, believe it or not.
