84l 25-06

I'm saving up to get a new 84l in 25-06,but i keep reading online about accuracy problems with all the 84 models. Id hate to save up and get it and find out it won't shoot under 2" groups even with hand loading. What are your experiences with accuracy on the newer 84l?

Welcome to the site from Tennessee! Sorry I can't help you with the rifle question because I don't own one yet. We do have several rifle guys on site that I am sure will be able to help you.

Don't believe everything you read online.

If you have not already done it, go the "New Member" topic and introduce yourself to the members.

Welcome to KT. I don't have a Kimber rifle, but wanted to say hello.

Welcome from northern Illinois.

I have also been contemplating a Kimber rifle. My research basically says they solved whatever problem there was. I talked with one of the bigger dealers in Chicago an he reassured that he was no longer hearing of problems.

I have an 84 in 338Fed. It's accurate. Thin barrel though, so if you plan on shooting 50 or so rounds quickly, don't. The barrel can get plenty hot.

I also have the LPT in .308 that shoots sub minute of angle. Love that gun.

I'm not sure as I've never herd of accuracy problems with Kimber rifles. I have several and every one is extremely accurate. As a matter of fact my 84L in 30'06 is the absolute definition of a "one hole" gun. I have $3000+ rifles that can't come close to it, and a few that can match it. Not to mention its a "light" barrel wood stock gun, not a heavy target barrel with heavy synthetic stock. That 84L would be the last gun I'd ever get rid of.

I talked to my local dealer today. He personally owns four kimber rifles and says they all shoot well. All the owners of kimber rifles bought from his store haven't had any problems with theirs.
