Kimber Model 82 22 K Hornet

I have come across a Model 82 in 22 K Hornet. I am having a hard time finding any information about this rifle, does anyone know what the production years and numbers are for this rifle? Any additional information? Value? It is as new in excellent condition.

Wildman, welcome to the forum from Northern Illinois.

Is this a Kimber of Oregon rifle, or a Kimber? Production years will vary.

How about some pics of your model 82, we can't tell squat without pics. We need to know if it is the 82 Government, Classic, Super America, 82C, etc.

Are you saying you found a Model 82 that your "Thinking" about buying? If it's like you say, "as new...excellent condition" I would buy it and not worry about facts and details. Kimber's records from back in the day are very lacking...meaning the records don't exist. You might find some write ups in old Guns & Ammo magazines.

I have been looking for a Model 82 in .22lr for about 2 years. The .22lr and .22 K Hornets are selling for 1K and MORE. The Government 82's are selling from $500 to over $1,000. I don't care for the Governments myself but they are plentiful.

I missed a M82 with a stainless barrel in .22 Hornet on GunBroker cause I was trying to decide if I liked the Hornet round and other information. Snooze you loose.

Maybe this pic of my Clackamas Kimber M82 22 K-Hornet may help for comparison purposes. This rifle was early 90's Oregon production. The previous owner ordered it with a Shilen Select Match grade barrel....it shot very well.

Sure wish I still had it!

More Information

Aha, I finally remembered where I stored this info. It may or may not help you, it is information on a Model 82 Kimber rifle except it is not about a 22 Hornet it is for .22LR. I thought the dollar amounts and maybe some information might be helpful. The source was a Gun Digest/Shooters Bible from the late 90's.

Sorry, this is my first forum, and first forum question so I'm learning this as I go. The rifle is a Kimber Classic, from Kimber of Oregon, Clackamus. It belongs to a friend and I am trying to help him establish a value. I will post pictures when I figure out how that works, is the easiest way to use photo bucket? 2sharp2, thanks for the info! This gives me a good place to start.

My best advise to your friend would be to hold onto that rifle and not worry to much about the value of it, I sense the value rising weekly maybe daily.

Wildman, I have not been "watching" Kimber rifles in 22 Hornet caliber, I have been watching the same rifle in .22lr rough versions usually start at $999.00 and new in box looking versions starting around $1,200 and going up. Last time I checked there was a SuperAmerica in .22lr on GunBroker listed starting bid $2,295.00.

If he wants to sell it I suggest you make that purchase.

Oh lot of people was using Photobucket, then PB held peoples pictures hostage for a hefty fee.
I find it easier to just store my pics on my laptop. Scroll on down to Topic: Additional Options, click tab "Manage Attachments", Browse saved pics, Select, upload, post. You should be able to figure it out now, once you do it once, your gonna say crap that was easy.
