New Member New Rifle

Hi all,

I just wanted to introduce myself and share my new beauty. Its a Montana .270 Winchester with a Leupold VX-2 3-9X40. (image attached)
I was looking for a quality light weight rifle for stalk hunting and this was by far the nicest feeling product. It is a solid stock and the action is smooth. I have been out to the range once and broke in the barrel, without time to do much else. Love the way is shoots, it kicks less than my heavier .270's?? Maybe the Kevlar absorbing it?

Sorry for the upside down picture, I have no clue how that happened!

Very nice rifle. I don't own a Kimber rifle but I want one. I think the .270 is a great deer caliber.

Nice rifle. I think it has less perceived recoil because it is so well designed.

Thank you, it has to be the structural design of the rifle, there is really no other reason for less perceived recoil. The butt pad isn't any better feeling than my Browning Medallion .270 Winchester. Same loads being thrown down range as well.
I am excited to post a accuracy report here in a week.

Stock design is important and I think Kimber rifles direct the recoil better than other stocks.
