Lightweight Optics & Adirondack .308

Have been considering putting my Dad's Lyman All-American 4X scope on that I have lying around but this nostalgic thought may have been fueled by a bit of vodka....

I'm in the doghouse for buying the Adirondack for a bit as we are in the middle of a huge landscape project that she has patiently waited for years to come about, so I have to use optics that I have on hand for 6 months of so....

Have the above said Lyman - very light, bullet proof but a fine recticle that may not be the best at dawn / dusk. Have a silver Leupold VXII 3x9 - Do not know if I could deface that Kimber with a bright silver scope!
Or strip a Leupy VXIII 2.5x8 B&C off of my ought six that has irons on it....

What would the hunting crowd here do?

D.K.

I would go with the Leu 2.5-8. I have one on my 308 Adirondack and it is perfect for my uses - mountain hunting with shots out to 250 yds.

A few hunters I know really like a fixed power scope. It could not hurt to try the Lyman. I hate swapping scopes from other rifles unless you like zeroing scopes.

A fixed 4 power has been the most reliable all around scope for years.

mj7thson, welcome to the forum from northern Illinois.
