Federal Micro HST 150 Grain???

Has anyone tried this ammo (Federal 150 9mm HST) in their Kimber? Supposedly for micro pistols.

How did it work?

Did Kimber discontinue the Solo recently?

If you use something like this as a carry ammo, how do you test it in your pistol on range? Do you just shoot a few rounds, a full mag, more than that? I'm asking (1) because I've never used this grain and (2) because of the price, mostly the price though. Thanks.

Just use 124 gr and you will be fine 124 HST for carry, and 124 of any other brand is fine I said 124 gr AE,lawman Winchester NATO s&b as long as its 124 I've never had a problem and my solos have hundreds ,hundreds and hundreds of rounds through them there the best

Good to hear that. A quick question. When you say 124 grain are you referring to any 124 grain or self defense loads in Hollow Point only? I see phrase "Hollow Point" often for the Solo. Not sure why it would make a difference being a hollow point or round nose. Just asking?

I was pretty sure. But I just thought that perhaps they were just covering all bases as they figured if it was good self defense ammo and hollow point it would be somewhat hotter than just regular 124 grain. I am not a newbie at all but am new to Kimber and especially the Solo. I feel it is definitely a thoroughbred and must be treated as such.

I definitely feel it is not for everyone.

Appreciate the info. I have to decide if I am going to keep it or not. I like the way it looks and feels in the hand. But it is a CC Weapon for me and I am not sure I can trust it for that. Might be up for sale.

I've shot 90% 124gr FMJ (aka round nose, aka ball ammo) of various companies, no failures. I've shot HST, it works well. But Speer Gold Dot works even better, more accurate and the follow up shots are faster.
