Thumbs up its ok finally. updated.

2nd time to yonkers for slide not holding back, still will not hold back after last shot. yonkers did almost fix the fail to chamber problem.
last week, after 2nd time, shot 150 of 5 brands, very very few fail to chamber or stovepipe, but many many refusals of slide to hold back after last shot.
yonkers said after the 2nd return they fired 4 magazines and had no problem with any of my solo's functioning.
this am shot 75 hornaday, 135gr critical duty, for an experiment, 3 numbered magazines that they exchanged with my 3 factory magazines.
i shot single shot to determine if slide would hold back:
#1 slide never held back,
#2 slide held back almost every time,
#3 slide had more refusals to hold back than #2.
also shot6, 3round, mags, same results as above.
bottom line: i got 2 factory magazine that do not work well. guess i'll call yonkers and see about an exchange.
solo is getting there, it is almost reliable.

UPDATE: 6/20/17
PROVED that the 2 magazines were defective by pushing up on the base of the magazines with my other thumb, while firing single shot, every time the slide locked back. the magazine catch slots are out of specs. called Kimber and they are sending me 2 new magazines. maybe final problem solved, whew!

UPDATE 6/27/17, took 2 8 round kimber magazines that they sent me to range, shot ~80 rounds, they worked without fail.
so now i have 1 6 round and 2 8 round mags.

Sorry to hear that you're still having problems after two trips to Yonkers. The Solo's a gun that should never have been made. Kimber has given up on it themselves. The only way to solve all your problems is to sell it or trade it for Sig P938. That's what I did and I haven't had one single problem since then. Just saying; Carry on.

Totally Unacceptable for a self-defense weapon.

"Solo is getting there, it is almost reliable." ??

Is that like almost pregnant or not really drunk ?

Keep sending it back until they fix it right or ask for credit for another gun...I lucked out and only had mine "yonkered" once and it was fine. The last thing anyone wants is to lose the trust of any gun that will be carried daily. If you can't depend on a gun when you need it most, make it a doorstop.

Trust in anything has to be earned...

Those two never say any good about the Solo. They won't even accept the fact that there are solos that work fine..
More problems with M9 and micro 380.
Send it back until it is fixed. That simple.
