Magazine springs?

Does Kimber sell replacement magazine springs for the Solo? Only 1 of my 4 6-round mags are holding back the slide.

Your best bet would be to contact Kimber's customer service. If they don't offer them in their store they still may be able hook you up with a couple.

Well, they don't have any parts for the magazines. Guess I can try springs for the Kahr PM/CM9's. When I stretched the springs (I know, only a temporary 'fix'), the slide locks back.

I saw those, but they advertise to get them if you are having problems fitting 6 rounds in the magazine. I take that to mean that they have less spring to them than stock, and I need MORE strength. We will see how the Wolff springs work. If not, I have a Kahr PM9 I can use them in.

if your mag isn't holding the slide open, check the follower. Is the last round as hard to load as the other mags? Then it isn't the spring.

Well, I got the PM9 x-tra power springs (Wolff), put them in my solo mags, and they hold back the slide perfectly !! I have to say that these are some STRONG springs...was initially worried I might not get 6 rounds in there. But the rounds went in easily. Have yet to take it to the range, but all looks good so far.

BTW, I did check the followers.....all of them look fine.
swca and Soloist like this.

Have you had a chance to check out the funtionality at the range yet? I've having the same problem with my Solo all of a sudden...it fires fine, but won't lock back on an empty slide. It also won't do so when I cycle by hand.

I checked out the internals of the pistol and the magazines, and they look fine. One thing I did notice is that, if I apply upward pressure on the magazines, the slide will lock back perfectly. So it seems that some extra tension on the magazine followers might do the trick.
