Solo Ammo Functionality - A bit of testing.
I don't see a hand loading area of this forum, but since this applies only to my Kimber Solo, I'll post this here in case anyone is interested. As I mentioned in another part of the forum, I said I would let folks know how the "new to me" Solo is working after some range time.
It's pretty simple so far.... 100% reliability with all of the following loads. I did not fire more than 10 of each type round, but they all worked just fine, with zero malfunctions. More testing will take place before carrying the Solo.
Speer Gold Dot 124gr. HP +P (Factory Load, Kimber recommended)
Blazer 124gr. FMJ (Factory Load)
Hornady 124gr HP-XTP 7.9 gr. Acc. #7 (Hand Load)
Hornady 124gr HP-XTP 4.4 gr. Bullseye (Hand Load)
Hornady 124gr HP-XTP 5.6 gr. Unique (Hand Load)
** The hand loads are maximum loads in some manuals and I am not necessarily recommending them to anyone.
So... I'm pretty happy with the Solo that came home with me one day.
