Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois zombiehunter, I don't own a Solo but I'd suggest you read through the threads we have on them and the problems some of the members are having with them. Then unless it was a local guy selling the gun who would let you shoot it first I don't think I'd consider buying it.

Depends on where you put the decimal point. If it's 619 dollars I'd pass.

Then again, 6.19 dollars is close to a tank of gas for a Sportster, so I would still pass.

You know you can buy a Springfield Model 2.0 in 45 ACP (with a nickel slide) for the same price--and my guess is that it will actually fire right out of the box.

Zombiehunter, welcome to the site from Tennessee! I agree with the fine advice from Chuck, not only fire it but give it a good disassembled inspection.

If you've inspected the gun and find it in like new condition, I'd knock off 20% of what sellers in your area are getting for new if I was looking to get a "good" deal. 10-15% otherwise. If it's a private sale and not paying sales tax is a consideration then that plays into it too. In Tennessee our sales tax is nearly 10% so that helps support private sales prices. So the real answer is.... It depends.

I disagree with the notion that you should necessarily shoot the gun first. For what purpose? New Solos fail right away, after 200rds, after repair... on and on. No matter buying new or used, if you are intent on buying a Solo I'd plan on having to send it back to Kimber anyway. If the gun works perfectly, great, but I'd get my mind right about the likelihood of it not, even if it manages to cycle through a mag prior to purchase.

Good luck.

With regard to price, I think it's high. I think 500 - 550 for a used, in good/excellent condition Solo, manufactured within the last year is about the right price.

As for the comments regarding reliability, please note that I have a Solo that shoots anything I feed it, without fail.
