Question About Kimber Gunsmith Procedure
Does anyone know who they test a Solo after repair i.e. do they shoot it in a bench rig or actually hold it in their hands. Mine went in for service and they replaced the Extractor, thumb safety pin, left side thumb safety, solo spring & outer recoil spring, barrel reamed, polished & refinished.
They shot 3 mags of Pierce 124 gr FMJ 1 mag Hornady 147 gr XTP
I get it and load with Rem. Golden Saber 124gr +P, Hornady Critical Duty 135gr +P and Freedom Munitions 124gr XTP
Iloaded each mag full with each type and had failure to feed in almost every mag I loaded. It would hang the cartridge at an upward angle. All I would have to do is pull back on the slide slightly and it would chamber and fire. It would occur only once per mag so seems strange. I'm thinking if they are using a bench mounted device that holds the gun they are not testing in real world conditions and if they are in fact shooting from the hand they in no way should be using ball ammo as no one will use these type of rounds for defensive shooting. In any case it will be going back for round two.
