New Toy, No I'm not Crazy.

Well I did it, I bought a Solo Carry. I figured by now Kimber has it pretty well figured out and besides that I couldn't pass up the price for a new in Box Solo. (Offer I couldn't refuse)
I hand load 124 and 147 grain ball ammo so that's not a problem, I can bump up the load if needed. Being discontinued maybe that's the reason for the major price drop at my LGS. Or maybe just not selling since the Micro 9 is so popular. In any case, its another Kimber for the collection. I'll keep you posted as to how it performs as I get a few rounds down range.

You are not crazy, nice score. I've been waiting for a used one to make an appearance in one of my LGS.

I think that's the prettiest Solo I've seen. I had a SIG P229 in .40 SW just like that, black on the receiver, polished on the slide.

I hope you find a good handload. I used to do it, and when I found the "magic bullet" it was always a good day.

No we don't think you are crazy. Now that they are collectors items it makes perfect sense to get one. Any bona fide Kimber collection must include a Solo.
Buy American - MAGA!

Congrats on the new toy. I have 3, had to send my solo sts back to kimber on Monday, the front night sight went dim. Sent it in Monday and got it back on Thursday. Great service, and great gun.

Crazy No Brave Maybe Loves a Challenge Yes

Solo looks great. I guess it is a 50-50 shot if the purchase was a good idea or not.

Yup, life's a 50-50 crap shoot, as long as it functions with a good 147 grain HST or 124 Gold Dot I'm good with it. More less a summer shorts and T pocket gun or backup. Every day carry is a Taurus Millennium G2 with 12 round mags. Way things are today I've opted for the higher capacity of the polymer pistol. Still carry my Kimber Ultras and Pro's, but Flint, Detroit and Saginaw you never know what your going to run into. That's why I've switched my thinking a little on carry. I trust my G2 (Over 2000 flawless rounds) to function when needed and have twenty five rounds with a spare mag.
I'll let everyone know how the little Solo performs as I get some rounds through it. Like I said previous I load 124 and 147 ball so weight isn't a issue with the ammo and I can load hotter if needed for function. But I didn't buy it for a range gun, hollow points will be its main diet.

She's certainly a pretty little thing, isn't she?

Good luck with it...I think you made a wise decision.
