3rd time

sent my solo to Yonkers for the 3rd time, yesterday at range shot 1 complete magazine without fail, then shot 3 rounds then trigger became mushy and the trigger would go forward until it touched the top inside of the trigger guard, sometimes locked up and slide would not pull back. no reset.
hopefully it can be repaired properly,
if not then i'll ask for something else.

UPDATEKimber called and is going to exchange my solo for a 9mm ultra carry two tone.
Really tried to tease out the solo and make it work.
i'll wander over to the 1911 forum.

I thought I had heard about every possible failure that the Solo could produce but man, that's a new one.

Are you using only premium ammo? It says that in the manual.
Maybe you're limp writing it. The Solo is only for experienced He-Men.
What lube are you using? I only use [insert your brand here].

Hopefully the Solo will run better after Kimber polishes the barrel and installs a new recoil spring.

Sorry, I really do feel your pain. But every Solo is on the verge of one type of documented failure or another at every pull of the trigger. Dump it and get yourself a Micro9.

phil evans has done an excellent job chronicling in a matter-of-fact manner the ongoing problems with his Solo and the tons of high-priced SD ammo he's gone through during the past two years.

I am sure there are many potential Solo owners who owe phil a BIG thank you.

Man, that is SO disappointing.

I really envy anyone that has a fully-functional Solo, but I'm afraid those people are an endangered species.

While I sometimes feel the pangs of envy of those who are content with their Solos, I temper the emotion with my knowledge of how the Solo actually works. No matter how green that grass looks from this side of the fence, that gun is NOT for me. Been there, done that, learned my lesson.

I purchased a pre-owned never fired STS a couple years ago for $400. Took it to the range, put a 50rd box of Fed 124gr HST through it without any hiccups. Cleaned it up and haven't fired it since, though I did a purchase new CT rosewood for $220 directly from Kimber just cuz I figured CT was going to discontinue them since no longer listed on their website (only black). So now I got $620 into a flawless (so far) operating Solo. I wonder one day what such a rare Solo (shot but never failed) my might be worth to someone?

I was thinking about putting it up for auction one of these days. Never holstered. Not the slightest imperfection. One of these days... including free HD pics.
