Can't remove slide

I can't remove the slide!! It appears that the recoil spring came off the barrel and I can't pull the slide back far enough to get to the slot to remove the slide stop pin. Any help?....

Sounds odd. A picture could help.

Got it solved. The recoil spring came off the barrel lug, but I held the slide back as far as I could, and grabbed the front of the spring with a pliers, and pulled it forward, then it went back into place when I let loose, so I could get the slide to go all the way back. It has happened with my Kahr before, but the spring on this one was tough to pull from the front end.

Since this is in the Solo sub forum we have to assume it was a Solo but I'm at a loss at understanding what happened.
2sharp2 and Oreste like this.

It is a Solo DC. I didn't have a camera to take pics when it happened, and sure don't want to try to re-enact it....but the recoil spring was off the barrel lug, and was not allowing the slide to go back far enough to remove the slide stop pin. It finally went back into place after about 15-20 minutes of pulling the front of the spring out with a pliers and hoping it would land back on the lug when I let loose. It finally did.
