Seems the lock of the back door was broken. Send slide assembly to Kimber for repair

See something different everyday! A followup report after repair would be cool. What caused it and what the repair was kind of thing.

That happened to me. It was the first of many events that made me lose confidence in the Solo and finally retire her. Could never trust it after that event. Actually found a spring in shirt pocket I was wearing the next day. That is not a FTE or FTF it was a catastrophic failure. I remember at that moment it was like holding my d%^& in my hand and all I could see in my mind was the bad guy in front of me pulling the trigger.

Looking back at your picture, mine actually opened and flapped back like a door allowing what ever springs a plastic parts to pop out of the gun and onto my shirt and shirt pocket.

Don't look good ,but my question is this, why would you shoot that many hst +Ps? As they are not fun to shoot in the solo, they should only be used for carry, and especially not the 147 gr +p. But kimber will fix it.

I agree full hearted with your point Ice Man. But as the same thing happened to mine and I shot only 124 gr I don't think the round is the main issue. I have to tell you when it happened to me it felt like the entire gun exploded. So far this is the second incident on this forum. I wonder how many others have experienced this. It is not merely a simple malfunction, it is a terrifying experience to have parts blowing back at you. Kimber did fix it. But it never fixed my confidence after that experience.
