cdp laser question

I love my solo but the laser has never been anywhere near as bright a the laser on my chief, my ppk/s or little lcp. Is this normal for the solo or has mine been bad from the get go?
thanks
dale

I had the same exact problem on my solo CDP. Compared with the laser grips on my Smith & Wesson 340 PD and a couple of others it was very dim from the beginning. I called Crimson trace they took it back and sent me a brand-new one which was really nice and bright so they will exchange it for you just give them a call.

As a matter of fact I still have a Crimson trace laser grip box and a set of the original black grip panels that I would send to you if you want them just PM me with your address and I'll mail it to you. You could use the grip panels while you wait for your Crimson trace laser grip's to come back. I have no need of them as I no longer have a solo and you're welcome to them if you want.

I was going to say, have you tried a new battery? But Cuca's idea may be better.

That's a good idea to change your batteries and see if it helps but in my case it didn't change at all with new batteries and Crimson trace didn't even ask any questions they just said to mail it back and they would check it out. It only took about a week to receive my new grips. I could tell they were new because it came with a new box all the instructions adjustment tool and brand-new battery still in the package.

LOL why would any serious person want red lights and glo sights on there CCW ?they will be fine at the range, but just make you a better target if yer gunfight is at night.you should all learn point shooting if you ever are in a real world gunfight that will help you more than anything

Laser on a pistol is helpful in point shooting IMO. Tactical pro's and con's of laser's and lights have been discussed in other threads. There will not be a correct answer for everyone. You think they are a hindrance, I think they are helpful. Members mileage will vary.

The OP Dale's question was he thinks the laser on his Solo is dimmer than it should be? So if a new battery does not fix the issue he needs to return it for replacement.

I think if someone is shooting at you at night and I mean dark,a laser will get you very dead!
