Bye Bye Recoil assembly.....

At the range today, was having a great day blowing the bullseye out of the target, when all of a sudden, one round went WAY high and right....

When I looked at the Solo, the guide rod was just hanging outside of the gun. Took it apart, and found this:

Kimber Customer Service was great as always, and is sending me a new one out right away.

About how many rounds you have on that spring? Just curious.

Since that assembly went in, about 400-500 rounds.

My Kahr PM9's spring flew apart once like that, but it screws together and came undone (unfortunately, the end cap flew downrange into the Bermuda Triangle). But the Solo's assembly is welded.

They recommend every 1000 rounds.
