How durable is the Kimber Solo (DC) slide finish?

I have noticed a few small scratches on the frame of the Solo, but it appears the slide is still pristine. I ask this because I use kydex holsters and have noticed on my other guns, that the finish is wearing on the front of the slides. Can I expect this to happen on the Solo?

What! You want to use a holster for the Solo? You should be pocket carrying that.
No, thank you. Pocket carry is only used to impress the ladies, and I pocket carry my Glock 19 for that.

Kydex? You should be using a quality leather holster.
No, thank you. I wear IWB and Leather is too thick, too bulky, and it absorbs perspiration which causes it to eventually smell. Kydex is super thin and stays clean. Think about it, how often do you clean your car keys?

You should get a shoulder holster for that Solo.
No, thank you. The gun oil clashes with my deodorant.

A Fanny pack is the only way to go with a Solo.
A what? I thought Fanny packs where banned back in the 80’s.

The black KimPro finish on the Solo frame is every bit as durable as a couple of coats of Krylon spay paint.

Sorry Ice, I don't believe anything I hear and only half of what I see.
You've been carrying your solo every day for years and have over 3000 rounds through it and you wore out a set of grips and you want us to believe your finishes on that gun are perfect, yeah right.

Did you know Kimber designed the Solo trigger guard to allow a 1/2" belt to be positioned snuggly around the trigger. Just keep your belt tight and yours pants up for open carry.
