Exclamation Guide Rod Spring Question

I was thinking about getting a Wilson Combat Flat-Wire Recoil Spring Kit, 4" Compact .45 ACP for Kimber Pro Carry II. Looking for some feedback.
thanks

There has been a lot of threads on this very subject. Try a search and you should find some great info. Chuck43 is our resident expert on the subject and should chime in shortly.

I think the Wilson Combat Flat Wire Spring Kit is one of the best upgrades you can make to a Pro size gun. Just the ability to break the gun down without the need of any kind of tool is a good reason for going with it. The added spring life is another plus, the flat wire spring will outlast many conventional springs. We have quit a few members here using it and I've not heard one person say a negative thing to say about it.

This is the one you want: #651. I have this kit in my Pro Carry II and I highly recommend it.

One reason you can break it down without a tool is that the guide rod is a little shorter. You can push it down and then just pull it out. Since the spring is flat, it is wider, so the rod and bushing are thinner. Here is what the shorter guide rod and bushing look like from the front: (I love the look of a .45 barrel.)

I wish I had read about these before I bought 3 of each for both my PCII. They would have been a God send. Oh well, next time...Watched a YouTube video and it is much easier to install than the factory springs.

The 1st thing I bought for my new Pro Crimson Carry II was the Wilson 651 flat recoil spring kit. It was the best mod I bought. Just not dealing with that paper clip was worth 50 bucks to me, and it should perform better than what comes with the gun. Buy one, you won't regret it!
