New Kimber

So here's the obligatory pictures of my new Ultra CDP II. For those not familiar, it's the baby of the CDP (Custom Defense Package) line. It sports a three inch barrel, ambidextrous safety, "Carry Melt" edges, Meprolight sights, rosewood grips, and some other gingerbread features. Most importantly, it's a pretty little gun.

What's really cool is that it's a .45 ACP in a package that's small and readily concealable in this warm-weather climate.

I've field stripped it a couple times this evening as I'm checking stuff out. The only thing that's less than perfect is a very slight bump in the trigger take-up. I don't think it will be noticeable during casual shooting, but it's there if I'm paying close attention. It's the sort of thing that might work itself out, or maybe I'll spot the problem and fix it.

I think this is gonna be a fun gun.

Congrats Rusty, CDP's are one of Kimbers finest. Ive had my CDP Ultra for over seven years. It's been solid, very reliable, no problems what so ever. I don't shoot it often only have around 2500 rounds fired with it, but did put 120 rounds though it on Thursday. It does have the heaviest trigger of all my Kimbers and other 1911s for that matter. Weighs in at 5.5 pounds, been the same since new. Not bad enough to get it worked on but much higher then my other Kimbers. Sure it's not a CDP Ultra thing, just a my CDP Ultra thing. Have fun with your new one.

Sweet looking gun. I love the 3" Ultra in .45. Great carry gun in any weather, IMO. No need for a small cal pocket gun when there is a great .45 option available. YMMV
